It was X Factor singer Jake who won Dancing On Ice 2018 in Sunday night’s final, beating Corrie actress Brooke Vincent in the public vote. Rugby star Max Evans finished the competition in third place.

Speaking at the weekend, Jake revealed hopes that appearing on the show could lead to a full time skating job.

He said: “I love skating. I’m 100 per cent going to carry it on. It’d be great to do it for a living – Disney on Ice came in and I was proper trying to get in the guy’s ear… ‘Do you need another Aladdin? Need a Prince Charming?’

“I played Peter Pan in panto and I can’t fly. So anything is possible.”

Jake added to the Daily Mirror: “When I saw them it was incredible. I was passing my business card to producers. As long as I don’t stop skating. I’m going to keep trying to see what happens.”

After last night’s final, Jake took to Twitter to thank his fans.

“Thank you to every single person that voted and supported!! I can’t believe it honestly everyone did themselves proud!! Met some amazing people and learnt an amazing new skill!!! THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️” he wrote.

He followed that up with a post on Instagram, praising pro partner Vanessa Bauer: “We did it @vanessabauer_skates I just wanna say thank you to every single person who voted for us both, I can’t get my head around it.

“Also thank you to everyone involved in the show production, makeup, wardrobe… my Sharron and max in physio, all the other pros and basically everyone, without you all the show wouldn’t have been as amazing as it was! My body is in pieces so today I’m gonna have a 5 hour bath and chill and then we go again on tour. Can’t wait”

Dancing On Ice will return to ITV next year for a brand new series.
