Max Evans’ Dancing On Ice 2018 partner Ale Izquierdo was taken to hospital this afternoon after the pair tumbled over on the ice.
Today the stars of the ITV skating contest have been rehearsing in the studio for the next live show, airing tomorrow night.
Rugby player Max and Mexican figure skating champion Ale had been practising a routine which involved a bright pink sofa.
However, disaster struck when the duo attempted a lift, only to stumble on to the ice.
Photos released by ITV show Ale lying on her back in pain, with an unharmed Max and production medics coming to her aid.
The broadcaster confirmed that the 30-year-old was taken to hospital, and is now at home recovering, having being told to rest for 24 hours.
Bosses are yet to determine how the incident will affect the pair’s involvement in tomorrow night’s show.
The Metro claims that while Ale is currently expected to perform, it is ‘touch and go’ whether she will recover in time.
It is unclear what will happen if she is unable to take part. Possibilities include Max performing with a back-up partner, or being given an automatic pass through to the next round.
Ale isn’t the only contestant to have suffered a scrape on the ice this week.
A spokesperson for Kem Cetinay has confirmed that the Love Island star cut his leg during training.
The couples remaining on the Dancing On Ice cast are Donna Air and Mark Hanretty, Cheryl Baker and Dan Whiston, Alex Beresford and Brianne Delcourt, Kem Cetinay and Alex Murphy, Antony Cotton and Brandee Malto and Lemar and Melody Le Moal.
They're joined by Jake Quickenden and Vanessa Bauer, Perri Shakes-Drayton, Max Evans and Ale Izquierdo and Hamish Gaman and Brooke Vincent and Matej Silecky.
Dancing On Ice 2018 continues tomorrow night (Sunday) at 6.00pm on ITV.
