Kem Cetinay says Dancing On Ice is helping him get over his split from Amber Davies.

Amber and Kem won Series 3 of ITV2’s Love Island in the summer and ended up sharing the £50,000 prize fund.

After almost six months together, the couple called it a day earlier this month just before Christmas.

“With sadness, we’ve decided to separate,” they said in a joint statement. “We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us.

“Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.”

Following the split, Kem has said that training for Dancing On Ice has been a “good distraction” for him.

He said: “Even if I’m out there [on the ice] on my own just skating around it’s good to concentrate on something.

“It’s cathartic.

“I’ve got really into it now as well, I’m videoing it and showing my mum and dad at home and they think it’s really good.”

Kem is partnered with new pro skater Alex Murphy on the show and says they’ve grown close.

But ruling out any chance of a romance, he told The Sun newspaper: “You get really close to your partner. I facetime her mum and her boyfriend after the session.

“Her mum is a coach as well so I chat to them. You’re with your partner all the time.”
