Sam Attwater: Dancing On Ice final was the first time I wasn't nervous performing

Dancing On Ice 2011 champion Sam Attwater has claimed that performing in last night's final show was the first time he didn't feel scared or nervous. The Eastenders actor revelled how he had relaxed after making it into the last show of the series, allowing himself to focus on the moves more.

Sam won last night's vote with 63% against Laura Hamilton after the pair both performed their own versions of the Bolero. Talking about his last performance with partner Brianne, Sam said: "Each week that we stood there I got so nervous and got a sick feeling but then last night I’d already skated the Bolero and I thought if I come second or first, I’ve already done what I wanted to do.

"It was the first time that I didn’t feel sick and I wasn’t really nervous because I’d done everything I could do, I couldn’t change anything."

Sam and Brianne's interpretation of the famous bolero routine won high praise from the judges and Sam seemed more than proud about the outcome. "We choreographed it ourselves, we changed a lot of it on the day and it’s the first routine we’ve done without any mistakes," he told Dancing On Ice hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. "There wasn’t one mistake."
