It seems as though Dancing On Ice 2012 could be without Jason Gardiner, unless ITV can be persuaded to double the nasty judge's current £100,000-a-series pay packet. According to The People, Gardiner has said he won't be returning to the programme unless he sees a rise in his fee.
The Sunday tabloid quotes the ever critical panellist as saying: "I am that show. Without me it is dull. I know they want me on the next series but they are going to have to pay what I'm worth."
Last night viewers saw as Jason unveiled his £35,000 hair transplant on the show after months of speculation, and it wasn't the first time that all eyes had been on Jason this series.
"His run-ins with Karen Barber and Tim Healy have been the most talked about episodes," a source told the newspaper. "Viewers may not always like what he says, but they also want to hear his opinions.
"The top brass realise they need to start talking about Jason's future here. Money will be an issue. It now all depends on whether there is enough dough in the budget to complete the sort of deal we know Jason is after."
Sam Attwater won Dancing On Ice 2011 last night, while Laura Hamilton finished the show in second place.
