Television presenter Laura Hamilton and her professional skating partner Colin Ratushniak have finished Dancing On Ice 2011 in second place. Laura and Colin scored 56 points out of 60 in their two judged performances tonight, as well as performing the Bolero to mixed reviews from the panel.
Talking about her time on the show, Laura said: "It's been such an incredible experience. I wanna thank everyone on the show and also my family and [my boyfriend] Alex. I've lived, breathed and slept everything ice skating for the past six months."
She added: "I'm 100% going to continue skating."
Meanwhile partner Colin added: "For the first series I couldn't have asked for a better partner, so fearless, she really blew me out of the water with what she could do."
While Laura didn't quite go all the way during this evening's climax, the former kids telly presenter did manage to score a perfect 30/30 - the highest score of the 2011 series - with her routine to 'I'm So Excited'. The amazing performance, which saw both Laura and Colin squeeze into revealing bright pink outfits, even saw Jason Gardiner take off his hat in respect!
Laura lost out on the trophy to Sam Attwater, after the pair skated directly against one another by both taking on the Bolero. Laura's interpretation received mixed reviews from the panel, with Gardiner commenting the routine was slow to get going. Having gone from the bottom two in the first week to finishing runner up in the final however, Laura didn't seem to mind the comments!
The show has seen Laura's career sky rocket from little known kids TV host to now a household name amongst Dancing On Ice fans. The skating star has even been tipped to host the Xtra Factor this year, with Laura herself telling us she'd love to take it on!
