A to Z

With tomorrow night marking the end of this year's Dancing On Ice competition, we're celebrating yet another fantastic series of ITV1's reality ice skating competition by looking back over the most memorable moments, highs and lows that have occurred over the past three months...

From the celebrity skaters themselves to the presenters, judges and even the outfits - it's all covered in our A-Z of Dancing On Ice 2011, so let's crack on...

A is for... Arguments! This series of the show saw more clashes than ever - amongst the judges, the presenters and even the contestants! No doubt by far the biggest on-air altercation of the series was between Jason Gardiner and former judge Karen Barber, prompted when Jason commented that Jason Beharry's skating skills were lacking. Now head coach Karen jumped to the war hero’s defence, only to be told by Jason that if her opinion mattered she'd still be on the panel, Ouch! The harsh comment prompted 3,000 complaints to ITV and the breakdown of the pair's friendship, Jason recently said: "What relationship? It’s non-existent. We don’t talk.”

B is for... Backstabbing! The second performance show in this series saw a Dancing On Ice first as the celebrities themselves were forced to pick who would be leaving the show! All of the safe skaters had to decide which one of the bottom two placed skaters to save in the skate off, with some interesting results. Kerry Katona played it tactically, saying at the time she planned on voting off the better skater!

C is for... Challenges! This year saw the whopping 16 celebrities face ever harder challenges, starting off by having to qualify for the show in a surprise opening twist! Since then the remaining celebs have had to show off in the skills week, vote off their fellow contestants, skate with props, take on international dances and - most recently - skate solo!

D is for... Denise Welsh! Ahh, where do we start with Denise? I think we can all agree her skating wasn't up to much; and to stay in week after week was quite a feat for the Loose Women presenter. Ice dancing skills aside however, Denise was more than up for a laugh on the show and brought many fantastic moments to this year's series.

E is for... Eliminations! The 2011 series of Dancing On Ice saw some shock eliminations, with favourites such as Jennifer Metcalfe, Vanilla Ice and Comedy Dave all leaving the show pretty early on. These surprise eliminations quickly drew criticism from some viewers, with much poorer skaters including Kerry Katona surviving week after week.

Sam Attwater and Brianne Delcourt

F s for... Fauxmance! It wasn't just on the ice that things were getting steamy between the celebs and their partners, or at least that's what Sam Attwater and partner Brianne Delcourt wanted us to think. The pair, who started dating early in the competition, continued to make out they were still an item - including filming romantic valentines VTs - despite having split up! The press exposed the pair's "sham" relationship in spectacular fashion, printing pictures of Sam kissing another of the professional skater's wife! Blimey!
