Sam Attwater has put the blame on his split from Dancing On Ice partner Brianne Delcourt on the press and tabloids, saying they cared more about the pair's relationship than his skating. Speaking to DigitalSpy ahead of Sunday's Dancing On Ice final, Sam insisted the duo were still very good friends.
“Myself and Brianne got so close so quick. We were together and now we’re not," he explained to the website. "The problem was that the tabloids were focusing more on our relationship than our skating.”
“We were working so hard each week and we felt like it wasn’t being recognised. So unfortunately that meant that it ended. But you know, I can’t do anything about that and I can’t do anything about how the tabloids write things.
“Me and Brianne are closer now than we’ve ever been. I’ve gained an amazing relationship with her as a friend.”
Asked about the possibility of a reconciliation anytime soon, Sam teased: "“Who knows? Life works in different ways. Our main focus at the moment is this weekend and the tour… but anything can happen.”
Sam didn't seem to mind the press interest when he was being paid to pose in a bed for heat magazine, did he?
