Professional Dancing On Ice skater Jodeyne Higgins has said that her celebrity partner Johnson Beharry "inspired and touched [her] life". The skating was speaking on This Morning following the pair's elimination from the competition during last night's semi final.
She told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "Every day I worked with him he blew my mind. He inspired and touched my life, we got messages on Twitter from people around the clock, so I know how much he inspired them. He is touching other people's lives with what he's done on this programme."
The former soldier was awarded the prestigious Victoria Cross in 2005 after saving the lives of his comrades on two separate occasions, suffering horrific injuries during the second clash in Iraq's Al Amarah province.
The 36-year-old Canadian skater added: "It's been a great great journey and it's not over yet. We've become incredible and we'll be together for the rest of our lives."
The duo will continue to work together as they prepare for the Dancing On Ice tour which starts next month.
