Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has claimed he felt intimidated by Tim Healy when the actor invaded the stage to defend his contestant wife Denise Welch. Speaking about the incident which shocked viewers on Sunday's live show, Gardiner also took another swipe at Healy's breath, saying he felt as though he was being maced.
Jason told The Sun today: "The man put his face right in mine. It was very unpleasant. His breath was that strong I felt like I was being Maced. I didn't know whether he was going to be physical or abusive.
"Whatever he was doing, he was trying to intimidate me."
Last night Denise Welch revealed she was just as shocked as viewers by the incident, admitting she felt Tim was going to hit Jason! "I thought, 'Oh my gosh he is going to hit Jason' - which some people wish he had," Denise said. "Tim gets very protective of me and he saw red when Jason said something negative."
However Jason added: "Had I been able to carry on my critique I would have been able to justify what image I was trying to communicate with Denise.
"But it turned into a shambolic circus with her husband trying to claim some more fame at my expense."
