Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner went head to head with the programme’s Head Coach (and former judge) Karen Barber live on air tonight, leaving Barber in tears. Presenter Holly was caught in the middle of the arguing pair, who disagreed over the skating skills of celebrity Johnson Beharry and his professional partner Jodeyne Higgins.
The fight kicked off following the judges' marking of the pair, which saw Johnson get 12 points out of a possible 30 - a 4.0 from each of the three judges. Presenter Phillip Schofield called the result a "shame", saying John had been amazing while Dean echoed Schofield's view, adding: "There is so much love for this man around the country"
Jason however wasn't as complementally, telling the war hero: "I'm looking at performance and danceability, yes there's a been a slight journey from Week 1 to now, but are you continuing to improve? I don't think so."
Asked for her view, Head Coach Karen Barber said: "The 'slight journey'? [Johnson's] been on an incredible journey, every week he is progressing. I think it's a massive achievement."
In reply, Jason quipped: "First of all, if your opinion still mattered, you'd still be on the panel," to loud boos from the audience. A tearful Karen then stormed from her seat and towards the judging desk, telling Jason: "You really are so offensive, you bring to this panel so little, you really do."
Holly was left to break up the bickering pair before the show went to a break.
