Dancing On Ice 2014 judge Jason Gardiner has revealed that Chris Fountain was being lined up to take part in this year's all star series.
The soap actor hit the headlines late last year after it was revealed he had recorded offensive rap videos and posted them on YouTube under a pseudonym.
It ultimately led to him being axed from ITV's Coronation Street and dismissed as a potential star of this year's Dancing On Ice show.
"The decision taken [to sack Fountain] was 100% the right one. He has blown it," a source said at the time. “If anyone takes a gamble on him in the next five years, I will be very surprised.”
Chris had originally finished as runner up on the third series of Dancing On Ice in 2010 following his exit from Channel Four soap Hollyoaks.
Jason Gardiner told The Sun newspaper today: "I think, controversially, I would have liked to have seen Chris Fountain.
“I know for a fact that if it wasn’t for the choices he made then he would definitely be part of this series.”
And Jason suggested that had Chris taken part, he would've been a potential winner.
“I think, of the boys, he was the one who could have given Ray Quinn a run for his money," the ice panelist added.
Dancing On Ice continues this Sunday night on ITV.
