Favourite to win Ray wowed the panel with pro partner Maria Filippov to achieve the joint highest score of the series to date of 35.5 points out of 40, including three nines from the judges.
Last week's scoreboard leader Suzanne Shaw kicked things off with an upbeat routine to Lady Gaga's Applause. While she didn't manage to match her marks from last Sunday, the former Hear'Say singer still received high scores to get over 31 out of 40.
It was a total that Sam Attwater matched after bouncing back from his place in the bottom two last week. The former DOI champ admitted he was "unnerved" by being in the skate-off last week following his latest "jam packed" performance.
Zaraah Abrahams was next out onto the ice but missed "a little sparkle" according to Ashley Roberts, although the soap star did still get a strong score of 30 points out of 40.
Bonnie Langford improved on her first week score to land a new series high of 28 points, despite boos from the audience over the marks.
The boos were far louder when Gareth Gates' marks were announced but with 25 out of 40 the Pop Idol singer was still 3 points up on his opening week result.
Soap star and DOI funnyman Todd Carty did even worse than last week with just 12 points from the panel, getting just 1.5 marks from Jason Gardiner, who this week branded Todd a "one trick mule".
Beth Tweddle surged to place second on tonight's scoreboard, up over 5 points on her last skate with a total of 34 out of 40.
Rugby hunk Kyran Bracken also improved on his first skate this year, up to 33 marks after performing with new pro partner Nina Ulanova.
Closing the show this evening was Haley Tamaddon who ended up fourth on the leaderboard with her highest score this year of 32.5.
Tonight the viewer votes will be combined with the judges' marks to decide the bottom two with one being eliminated after the skate off.
