Dancing On Ice will air its final series in 2014, it's been confirmed today.
Ratings for the ITV series have tumbled in recent years, with insiders claiming that bosses at ITV were set to ditch the show after its latest series in January.
But the show has been given one last run, which will take it to ten series.
The final show will air next January and be followed by a final Dancing On Ice tour, a feature which was axed this year.
Jayne and Chris said: "Next year will be the 30th anniversary of Bolero and our Olympic Gold medal in Sarajevo, so for us, it seemed a fitting time to say goodbye to Dancing on Ice. We wanted to go out on a high!
"But, we will not be retiring or hanging up our skates just yet. We are delighted to announce the last ever Dancing on Ice UK arena tour, starting in March 2014. We can't wait to be back on the road and we're already planning the show. It will be the biggest and best tour we've done to date and there will be some great surprises for the audiences across the country - we hope you will come and see us.”
The pair added: "We have loved every minute of Dancing on Ice, it has been a real pleasure to work on one of the UK’s most popular entertainment shows. We will miss it hugely and would like to thank all of our fans for their continued support over the years."
Meanwhile, ITV boss Peter Fincham said in a statement: "Torvill & Dean are the most successful ice dancing partnership of our generation and brought huge integrity, skill and professionalism to the show and with their departure, it feels like the series has reached its natural end.
“It is always a difficult decision to say goodbye to successful and long running shows but with change comes opportunity and the chance for us to bring in new and exciting programmes for our viewers. ITV would like to thank Jayne and Chris for their fantastic contribution to each and every series.”
