The Dancing On Ice tour will be back next year, Torvill and Dean have revealed.
The series' annual live show was axed this year for the first time, with sources blaming the recession.
An insider told The Sun newspaper last month: “It was thought that with the recession, the tour wouldn’t be a great idea. But, actually, fans are really missing it.”
Axed DOI contestant Shayne added: “It’s a shame about the tour. But it would be great to do something to celebrate the series, even if it’s one show.”
But Christopher Dean insisted that the ice concert would be back in arenas u and down the country next year.
“The Dancing On Ice tour will be back next year as well so we will do something together with that," he said. “In total we have been skating together for 40 years. Each year it gets harder."
Speaking to the Daily Star, Chris went on to reveal: “I’ve had so much surgery now.
“I’ve had two operations on my shoulder, my bicep, my wrist, shins, both knees."
He continued: “I’ve been patched up a lot.
“We want to continue for years, though. We look after ourselves. We work hard and train hard.
“When we started off 40 years ago it was a hobby. We never thought we would still be performing now.”
But while the tour could be back, the show might not be.
After a decline in ratings, Chris admitted: “To be honest, we don’t know if we will be back next year.
