Dancing On Ice 2013 ratings: Viewing figures are down again

The ratings for Dancing On Ice 2013 aren't improving, with viewing figures once again down.

Bosses will be pleased to know however that the decline has been slowing down, with last night's show only shedding a few viewers on last week.

However, with an average audience of 6.5 million, it was the least watched performance episode of the show in its eight year history.

The six remaining celebs had danced both individual routines and took part in a team challenge, but still viewers didn't seem interested as they once were.

The skate off at 8:30PM saw Samia Ghadie and Kieth Chegwin go head to head, with Keith going home in the latest Dancing On Ice 2013 results.

But just 5 million viewers watched, meaning 1.5 million didn't bother to watch the results despite seeing the main show.

There's now just three weeks to go until the series finale, which could be its last.

“There’s been a lot of chatter on set that there will not be a ninth series,” a source told the Daily Mirror this week. “The powers that be are unimpressed with viewing figures, especially considering how much it costs to produce… they don’t know what to do.

“It will be a big decision for ITV, because 6m viewers viewers is not to be sniffed at in this day and age. But the Sunday-night slot is as primetime as it gets and they’d be expecting more people to tune in.”
