Shayne Ward has vowed to carry on skating despite his early exit from Dancing On Ice 2013.

Last night saw Shayne bow out in the latest Dancing On Ice 2013 results show.

The X Factor singer was in the bottom two for the first time after his latest skate, having to perform against Matt Lapinskas in the skate off.

It was a shock bottom two result that left the judges almost speechless after both boys wowed earlier in the night but the panel voted to keep Matt in the competition.

Only Jason Gardiner saved Shayne over the former soap actor, with head judge Robin Cousins having to make the final decision.

Speaking on This Morning today, Shayne admitted he was "gutted" but said he knew he was out after being in in the bottom two again Matt.

He said: "To be against Matt - I said to him just before the skate off 'just smash it, its been an absolute pleasure'...because I knew that Matt was gonna be getting through - even with the stumble.

"He's an amazing skater.” In fact, Ward even confessed that he would probably have picked Matt over himself, as well.

“If I was a judge I would've put him through as well because he's that good a skater, so I always knew I was going to come second to him."

And Shayne added: “I'm going to carry on. I've loved it. I've been taught by the best and developed a skill, I can't wait to carry on. I didn't know what to expect - I did know that it'd be hard, because I'd never skated before but I've loved the whole experience.”

Meanwhile, Shayne's pro partner Maria Filippov admitted she was upset over the controversial bottom two.

She said: "I'm really sad because from the moment he started, he was really slow, it was really difficult - he was literally walking on the ice.

"And then you could see he blossomed every week. And I just got to the point where I watched him and he enjoyed his performance yesterday so much ... and it's just frustrating to see his wings were cut - he was just started to fly."
