It's only week three of Dancing On Ice 2013, but comic Keith Chegwin has confessed he's shocked to have even made it this far.
The comic was originally due to compete in the show last year, but crashed out after injuring himself in pre-season training
He recalled “As soon as I got on the ice, Jayne Torvill and Chris Dean asked me to go as fast as I can. Jayne normally does 14mph — they were clocking me at 15mph.
“Then I thought, ‘oh s***, I’ve got to go left’ and I couldn’t. So I cracked my shoulder in three places. I couldn’t come back after that. It was too painful.”
This year Keith has at least made it to the first live show, although he was in the bottom two for the first results.
He told The Sun today: “I knew I was going to get on the bottom of the leader board so I practised my ‘save me’ dance so that was more polished. My partner Olga Sharutenko is very tough on me. I call her the Gremlin from the Kremlin. She’s like an Olympian.
“She’s so dedicated to making sure I look my best. On the night I thought if Pamela skated well then people would go for her."
And Keith admitted he was shocked to have survived the axe alongside Pamela.
He revealed: “To my surprise the judges were just judging us on our skating ability. They didn’t care that it was Cheggers in his Lycra or Pamela Anderson falling out of hers.
“I was sad to see her go but it’s a competition. It’s about the skating.”
This weekend's third Dancing On Ice 2013 live show will see the remaining ten celebs - Anthea Turner , Oona King, Luke Campbell, Joe Pasquale, Gareh Thomas, Beth Tweddle, Samia Ghadie, Matt Lapkinskas, Shayne Ward, and Keith Chegwin - skate for the first time.
But in a twist, they'll face The Duel which first appeared on last year's show.
The celebs will go head to head and five will be made immune from elimination while the others will need the public to save them.
