Dancing On Ice 2013 star Beth Tweddle has insisted she's not confident on the ice, despite being named as a favourite.

The Olympic gymnast has been installed as the early favourite to be crowned the new Queen of the ice, and after being heavily backed by punters Tweddle has seen her chances of glory cut to 9/4 (from 3/1) with bookies Ladbrokes.

Second in the betting is Matt Lapinskas at 7/2 but it's Shayne Ward who has been attracting the most money as a 7/1 shot.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Beth might lead the pack but we're anticipating the female vote will start piling into Shayne's odds even more as soon as they see him in lyrca."

Beth certainly has the fitness and flexibility to triumph in the rink, but she said this week that her Olympic background could actually go against her.

She admitted: “We have to have straight legs in gym but on the ice that is the worst thing. So I use a tape recorder in training to tell me, ‘Bend the knees!’ ”

Meanwhile, TOWIE's Lauren Goodger said she was nervous about being judged by the panel.

She explained: “I am nervous because they may look at me and think I am from reality TV and there won’t be much respect. I hope the judges take me for who I am.”

However Corrie hunk Lapinskas said he'd happily hit back at the judges if they gave him a hard time.

He said: “I will answer back. I am not afraid. I am prepared for the highs and lows – you can work really hard and the judges can kill you for it.”
