Having come straight from the West End after being dumped by Simon Cowell, it's fair to say Shayne is more ready than a lot of celebrities for the channel.
And let's face it, his physique is hardly going to be a hindrance either.
Speaking from training, Shayne said that show coaches Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been impressed.
But the singer insisted he wasn't taking any credit for his top sense of balance.
He joked: “I don’t know if it’s because my sisters put heels on me – they dressed me up, it wasn’t my choice!”
Meanwhile fellow DOI contestant Anthea Turner has admitted she's found it a lot more difficult, petrified of falling over on the ice.
She said: “I have that older woman mentality – I am scared. It’s like learning to dance on bread knives.
“This is the most difficult show I have ever gone on.”
Shayne, Anthea and the other DOI celebs will skate live for the first time this weekend when the show returns to ITV1 on Sunday night from 6:30PM.
