Britain's Got Talent 2012 favourite Jonathan Antoine has been struck down with a throat infection, it has been claimed.
In a blow to his and pal Charlotte's chances, Jonathan has been "worryingly quiet" ahead of tonight's live show.
Jonathan has never been the most confident young lad in the world but he’s become quite withdrawn," a source told the Daily Mirror today.
They explained: “He has complained a lot about being tired this week and had a sore leg, and he was unwell in the run-up to the final and needed drugs from the doctor to get him through to Saturday.
"There were real fears he could lose his voice, which would have been a disaster for the show – his performances so far have been sensational and he’s the reason a lot of viewers will be tuning in."
And some insiders fear that the 17-year-old, bullied in school over his weight, could suffer a Susan-Boyle style meltdown over the pressures of fame.
“Another worry is how he will cope with all the attention after the final," the source added. "The show has offered 24-hour support but there have been examples before where the pressure has all become too much too quickly, most famously Susan Boyle.”
The pair will be performing for a £500,000 prize and a performance at the Royal Variety Show tonight.
Tune in to the BGT final from 7:30PM on ITV1 to see how they cope!
