Britain's Got Talent: Hope Murphy says Simon was right to stop her singing Jessie J

Hope - Britain's Got Talent 2012

Britain's Got Talent 2012 star Hope Murphy has said that Simon Cowell was right to stop her singing a Jessie J track.

The teenager impressed the judges on Saturday night with her performance of This Woman's Work by Kate Bush, after Simon asked her to sing another song.

"My initial song was Mama Knows Best by Jessie J, but by singing This Woman’s Work instead I appealed to a wider audience - especially older people who may be Kate Bush fans," Hope said this week.

The Essex singer however revealed that she missed watching her audition on the telly, after getting stuck in traffic!

She told the official website: "OMG! You’re not going to believe this, but my mum and I were STUCK in traffic. It was horrendous. We missed the show and I had to watch it on the official ITV website when I got in. "

And the 16-year-old explained how she spent the weekend replying to her fans on Twitter, including the likes of Boy George.

Hope added: "I was supposed to go out and celebrate, but I got waylaid trying to respond to each and every message of support I received online. The TOWIE lot and Boy George were tweeting about me all last night. Totally reem!"

Will Hope make it through to the Britain's Got Talent 2012 live shows? Find out soon!
