Britain's Got Talent 2012 hopeful Chelsea Redfern has said she wants to perform her own material on the show.
The 18-year-old wowed the judges with her performance of Prince classic Purple Rain on Saturday night, but wants to show off her own writing skills if she makes the live shows.
Watching her audition back on Saturday night, Chelsea recalled: “It’s crazy because I have wanted this for so long and now it’s sort of happening.
“It was really intense to watch my audition back, because I couldn’t really remember it. It was good to see, but also nerve-wracking.”
The Derbyshire star won rave reviews from the panel, with Simon Cowell telling her: “You’ve got something really quite distinctive in your voice. Not only do you sound like a pop star, you look like a pop star.”
Chelsea, who missed out on The X Factor live shows last year, went on: “I hope I do carry on in the show, because I feel I could have done a little bit better in my audition.
“I’d like to show everyone what I can do."
She added: “I have been writing my own songs and stuff so I would love to be a recording artist.”
