Ashleigh and Pudsey (Britain's Got Talent 2012)

Britain's Got Talent 2012 may have finally found the dancing dog act Simon Cowell has been hoping for in the form of Asliegh and Pudsey.

Speaking on tonight's show, the music mogul declared: "I’m on a mission to find a dog act. We want to find the best"

And when 16-year-old schoolgirl Ashleigh walked on with her pet pooch, the telly chief's eyes lit up.

Ashleigh revealed to the panel how she was given her dog as a present six years ago on her eleventh birthday: "He was in a little box all wrapped up.

“Me and Pudsey have an amazing bond, I walk him, feed him, groom him... I do everything with him."

The youngster - who apparently loves her dog more than boys - added: "I’ve come on Britain’s Got Talent because I know Simon has been looking for a new Lasie for quite a while, and I hope Pudsey can fill those boots.”

On stage and Simon asked the pair: "Do you think your dog and you can win an Oscar?"

A confident Ashleigh replies: "yes."

The pair go on to dance to the Flintstones theme tune, but will Simon be impressed?

He raved: "You know me, I love a dancing dog, I do, and Pudsey is the one of the best dancing dogs I've ever seen. You've got this great connection, my own criticism is i would've put Pudsey in an outfit as well!"

David Walliams added: "Everything about that was brilliant, I was blown away."
