Lily and The Pineapple hunks lead tonight's wacky Britain's Got Talent acts

Britain's Got Talent 2012 - Lily and the Pineapple Hunks

A singing and dancing group called Lily and The Pineapple hunks kick off tonight's Britain's Got Talent as auditions move to Blackpool.

Lilly explains to the judges: "We’ve known each other about two years and dancing at Pineapple Performing Arts School.

As they Lilly bursts into a performance of It's Raining Men, she explaims: "Hello Blackpool, I’m Lilly, these are my boys and we’re here just for you.”

But have the judges already seen enough?

It's the first time that BGT has returned to Blackpool in almost five years tonight, after Simon famously declared the city a talent dead zone on their previous visit.

He claimed back in 2008: "The worst day of auditions I have ever, ever, ever done in my life."

Unfortunately it doesn't get off to the best of starts this year.

Dog act Terrific Two - made up of flute player Laura and Dalmatian Todd - fail to impress.

56-year-old impressionist Kathy meanwhile leaves the panel guessing with her impersonation of Cliff Richard.

"Who is that?," Simon is forced to ask.

After a string of more unsuccessful auditions, Simon remarks: "This is going to be absolute end of the pier stuff here, right."

Let's hope it improves soon!

Britain's Got Talent 2012 airs tonight at 8PM on ITV1.
