Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec have revealed that they turned down the chance to become judges on the show.
The Geordie duo explained that they declined the opportunity, saying it'd be "weird" to go from being behind the scenes to behind the panel.
"We had talks a couple of years ago and we said no, it'd be too weird to shuffle from the sideline to the judging panel," Ant said.
Dec added: "It was brought up but I think we've established ourselves on the side of the acts.
"I wouldn't want to to do it, I think because we're performers ourselves we know how nerve-wracking it is, we can empathise with the acts so much."
And the pair also insisted that the job wasn't as easy as it looked.
Dec continued: "It's difficult to be a good judge."
Agreeing, Ant went on: "David Walliams has slotted in really well, he's sympathetic but not too sympathetic.
"The reason why Simon [Cowell] is so good is because he says what everyone is thinking at home, he's the best judge."
Britain's Got Talent 2012 continues Saturday nights on ITV1.
