New Britain's Got Talent 2012 judge Alesha Dixon has joked that she and Amanda Holden are the witches of the new look judging panel.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror this week, Alesha revealed how - despite the usual press rumours - she has bonded well with fellow female judge Amanda.
Alesha said: "I honestly haven’t laughed as much in a job. Obviously my laugh is my trademark, and Amanda Holden has an equally crazy laugh so we sit there cackling like witches.”
And it's her laughter that got her the job, with Alesha adding: "[SImon Cowell] sent me a message saying thank you for having a good sense of humour."
But despite the messages and meetings with producers Alesha didn't actually meet BGT boss Simon Cowell until the first day of filming back in February.
"It really was like waiting for the boss and he did this amazing royal entrance," the singer recalled. "The minute he walked in, we were filmed constantly, so no one got to have an off the record, candid chat. The only time you get a break is when you go to the toilet.
"I was like ‘Oh God they never did this on Strictly’,” she went on “When I sat on the panel I was so nervous, but by the end of the day, it felt normal – even Amanda said it – she was like ‘It’s the weirdest feeling, I feel like we’ve been here forever’.”
