Britain's Got Talent 2012: Sam Kelly's audition leaves crowd and judges silent

Britain's Got Talent - Sam Kelly

19-year-old Sam Kelly leaves the Britain's Got Talent crowd and judges in silence on tonight's opening show, we can reveal.

The teenager plays the guitar and sings ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Adele as auditions for the new series start in Manchester.

Speaking to the judges, single Sam reveals: "I grew up in rural Norfolk, and farming background and never really fitted in with the working bracket of my family because I’m pretty much useless at everything except music."

The performance of the track moves the judges close to tears, while everyone in the room is left in silence.

"You know it’s the way you approach the song, it was so delicate, it felt really genuine and honest and that was a beautiful moment - so well done," a teary Alesha told the teenager.

Amanda added: "I don’t know what it was but I’ve never felt quite so moved. Yeah it was beautiful."

Simon said: "I’ve gotta tell you Sam, when you’ve got absolute silence in a room like this, you’ve nailed it.

"I think you’ve got an amazing voice."

It's then over to the judges to vote!
