Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has said that this year's show will see "cooler" artists, claiming that the new judging line up have already discovered plenty of potential stars.
With the series back next weekend, Simon promised viewers there'd be no lack in talent on this year's series, and said fans would be impressed by the calibre of the live show finalists.
“We’ve found some really good people this year. I found this great singer who is 17 years old, and I’m also happy we’ve also found cooler artists for the show this year," Simon told the show's official website. "It’s not all about singing opera and 11-year-old girls singing White Cliffs of Dover, which we’ve had over and over again.”
But the music mogul admitted that finding the gems of talent from the thousands of auditionees was a tough process.
“The lowlights at that you sit there for hours sometimes without finding anyone good. sometimes,” he revealed. “It’s unpredictable; there are some genuinely good people, there are some genuinely horrible people."
Britain's Got Talent 2012 hits screens on March 24, with new judges Alesha Dixon and David Walliams joining Simon and Amanda Holden on the show, and it sounds like the new panel have been getting on famously.
“It’s been brilliant fun the new panel. Amanda, it’s amazing what she’s gone through that she’s even there, and looking amazing, Alesha, I’m loving seeing her doing something other than just judge celebrities doing ballroom dancing," Simon explained. "And David is without question the strangest person I have met in my life, but actually makes me laugh.”
Britain's Got Talent 2012 airs on Saturday, March 24 on ITV1 at 8PM.
