Britain's Got Talent 2012 will feature more live finalists than ever before, with 45 acts making it to the final stages of the competition.
It'll mean nine acts will be taking in each of the daily live shows, which usually run over a week in May. Previously, the live shows have seen 40 or fewer acts.
New Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon revealed the change earlier this month.
Speaking about the upcoming series, which launches on Saturday, she said: “It’s incredible, it’s good fun. It’s going to be on March 24, so it’s coming soon.”
The former Strictly Come Dancing star also revealed that more acts than ever had made the live shows, with 45 acts having now been chosen.
“We have our final 45. It’s very exciting, you will be happy. I’m very happy,” she added.
Show hosts Ant and Dec previously teased that this year's Britain's Got Talent finalists were the best that the show has ever seen.
Earlier this month, judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden decided on the acts to make the live shows in May.
The successful acts who received three or more yeses from the panel at the auditions travelled to a secret location for the big reveal.
Ant and Dec teased on Twitter: “We have our #BGT semi finalists!
“They’re a cracking bunch, best group for a number of yrs IMHO.
“Can’t wait for u all to see the series.”
Britain’s Got Talent starts on Saturday at 8PM.
