Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden tells all on her traumatic birth

Amanda Holden (Britain's Got Talent 2012)

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has revealed how she was “moments from death” after her heart stopped beating for 40 seconds whilst giving birth last month.

The star was rushed to hospital from the show's auditions in order to welcome new daughter Hollie Rose, but the birth saw Amanda nearly die.

The West End singer is quoted by the Sunday Mirror as saying last night: “As much blood as they were putting into me was going out. It just would not clot. I lost about 13 to 15 litres of it. I was moments from death. It was touch and go.

“They literally ran out of my blood group and had mopeds coming from everywhere with more.”

But after spending three days in intensive care, Amanda was finally well enough to go home, and was back working on the show just weeks later.

A month on, and we're glad to hear that Amanda and baby are both doing fine!
