Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is reportedly preparing to quit the show after the current series.

Amanda, the only judge to have appeared on every series of the show, is set to take a break from TV and showbiz after giving birth to her new daughter Hollie Rose.

The star has faced criticism from some after returning to work just weeks after being left in intensive care following the birth, but is preparing to make up for it when the show finishes in May.

“After this series Amanda will be taking an extended break from everything showbiz," a source tells The People. "She has decided family comes first.”

Amanda, who also has a six-year-old daughter with her husband Chris Hughes, wants to spend time with her new children after nearly five years of constant work in the public eye.

"She loves doing Britain’s Got Talent but she will just be spending time with Chris and the girls," the source added.

“Last year she did BGT, Shrek in the West End then back to BGT before having Hollie last month.”

Britain's Got Talent 2012 will air in the spring on ITV1.
