Britain’s Got Talent 2012 saw its "best day of auditions" in London yesterday, David Walliams has said.

The panel were joined by guest judge Carmen Electra as this year's auditions tour started a three day stay in the nation’s capital, and the talent was seemingly on top form.

"In London yesterday we had the best day of auditions yet for Britain's Got Talent," David said. "I think we may have found an international superstar (I don't mean Simon)."

BGT co-host Dec agreed, adding: "We've seen better talent at this stage of the competition this year then at the same stage last year."

Despite Carmen's poor reception from the audience, David defended the US TV star.

He said: "We all liked new guest judge Carmen Electra, Simon probably liked her the most!

"She has absolutely no clue who me or Alesha are though!"
