Britain's Got Talent duo Bars & Melody will return for the new champions series, it's been confirmed.

The musical duo - made up of Leondre Devries and Charlie Lenehan - made the final of Britain's Got Talent in 2014.

They went on to release a number of albums, led by debut record 143 which peaked at Number 4 in the charts.

Bars and Melody have also toured across the world and recently released brand new single, Waiting for the Sun.

They'll be one of a number of past Britain's Got Talent competing in a new all stars spin-off of the talent show.

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions will begin on Saturday, August 31 at 8PM on ITV.

It will see acts from the past 13 years of BGT as well as other Got Talent series from across the world compete to be named the ultimate champion.

Appearing alongside Bars & Melody will be the winners of their series, musical theatre boyband Collabro.

They said on social media: "We can’t wait for you guys to tune in! We had such a great time seeing our BGT family again and meeting our fellow Champions. - The boys x"

Other winning acts signed up are Series 1 champ Paul Potts, George Sampson, who won the second series in 2008, reigning winner Colin Thackery, 2016 winner Richard Jones, 2011 victor Jai McDowall, 2018 champion Lost Voice Guy and 2012's Ashleigh Butler.

International acts will include American comedian Vicki Barbolak, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, Ukrainian sand performance artist Kseniya Simonova, Danger act, Deadly Games; Alexa Lauenburger and her incredible dogs; and what could be the most terrifying performer yet, The Sacred Riana.

Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon will make up the panel.

The series will last for six weeks.

In each of the first five episodes, two acts make it through to the grand finale – the first is a Golden Buzzer act chosen by one of the judges or Ant and Dec while the second is voted through by superfans in the arena audience.

Hosted by Ant and Dec, the final will see one act crowned ultimate champion and walk away with the cash prize and coveted Champions Trophy.
