Simon Cowell doesn’t want Piers Morgan back on Britain’s Got Talent

The Britain’s Got Talent judges’ jobs are safe – at least for now.

BGT boss Simon Cowell says he has no plans to change the show’s winning combination of Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams.

It comes after ex judge Piers Morgan offered to replace David Walliams on Britain’s Got Talent, taking a swipe at the show’s ratings.

Piers, who was a judge on BGT between 2006 and 2010, reckons he’d get viewing figures up.

Although Britain’s Got Talent is still one of the most watched shows on TV, Piers pointed out there were even more watching during his time on the panel.

“When I was a judge the ratings were 20 million, and they’re half that now. I’m doing the maths and it doesn’t look good for Simon!” Piers said this week.

Piers told OK! magazine he’d happily return – if the money was right.

But Simon told Best magazine: “Ha ha, no, that’s never going to happen!”

He added: “We all genuinely get on really well. We are just all very comfortable with each other. If I am honest, I just can’t imagine changing the panel.”

Auditions for the new series of Britain’s Got Talent, minus Piers, wrapped up filming last month.

As well as the usual singers and dancers there was also a plate smashing routine that ended in chaos and a moving performance from a victim of the Manchester Arena bombing.

Only a few hundred made it through to the semi-finals later in the year after showing off their talents in front of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent judges.

Auditions for Britain’s Got Talent 2018 will start on ITV later this year.

No air date has been revealed just yet, but typically the show launches in April.
