When is the Britain's Got Talent start date on TV? A brand new series of BGT is on its way.

The latest series of BGT will begin on TV later this year with Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden all returning as Britain's Got Talent judges for the 12th series.

The line up of judges remain unchanged for a sixth year having proved a hit since first coming together in 2012.

And don't worry - hosts Ant and Dec will also return to host the show as usual!

When does Britain's Got Talent 2018 start on TV?

Although ITV has yet to officially announce the air date for Britain's Got Talent 2018, it's fully expected the show will be back on TV in April as usual.

The Britain's Got Talent start date is typically on the second weekend of the month. With that in mind the BGT 2018 start date will probably be Saturday night, April 14 on ITV.

Then over on ITV2, More Talent with Stephen Mulhern will be back for an extra dose of BGT goodness.

Open auditions for Britain's Got Talent 2018 have already taken place, with producers having travelled the country to host open try outs while online auditions have seen talented (and not so talented) wannabes upload their videos in a bid to show off their act in front of the judges.

"So proud to work on @BGT we have had a fabulous time & this year you are in for a treat!!! Too much talent!!! An incredible tour! Well done to all who auditioned ❤" tweeted Alesha Dixon after filming wrapped up.

This year show bosses have gone all out to try and encourage the best the country - and the world - has to offer as the show goes bigger and better than ever before.

The Britain's Got Talent judges' auditions 2018 kicked off at the start of the year in Blackpool before travelling to both London and Manchester.

As always, there will be a live crowd at every venue acting as the show's fifth judge to help the panel make their decisions and making sure the judges know when they disagree with their choices!
