Ant McPartlin has opened up about his battle with prescription drugs and alcohol after leaving rehab.
Shock news broke last month that that TV favourite Ant had checked himself into a rehab facility for 'drink and drugs problems'.
Following two months of rehabilitation, the Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity co-host is now on the mend.
Ant had hidden his secret addiction for two years from his best pal Dec as well as his wife.
But things came to a head earlier this year when Ant was rushed to hospital.
In an interview with The Sun on Sunday newspaper this weekend about his battle, Ant recalled: "I was at the point where anything — prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs — I would take.
"And take them with alcohol, which is ridiculous. The doctors told me, ‘You could have killed yourself’. ”
Speaking back in June, Ant first told how depression led to addictions to prescription drugs and substance and alcohol abuse.
"The first step is to admit to yourself you need help," he said. “I’ve let people down. I’m truly sorry."
Ant, who also fronts Saturday Night Takeaway with pal Dec, told The Sun newspaper: “I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I’m truly sorry.
“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends through this really difficult time.
He added to The Sun: "I have spoken out because I think it is important that people ask for help if they are going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery."
Ant is now fully expected to join Dec when I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here returns to screens in the autumn.
A TV source told the Daily Mirror previously that it was "business as normal" behind the scenes of the ITV show.
"The boys have hosted every series of I’m A Celebrity and everyone expects to see them back in five months time," the insider said.
