Simon Cowell wants The Pensionaires to sing 'Lets Get Ready To Rhumble' on the Britain's Got Talent 2017 live shows after comparing the OAP duo to show hosts Ant and Dec!

Singers Henry, aged 84, and Malcolm, 75, instantly charmed the judges when they revealed how their act came together.

"We've crossed paths all our lives but didn't know it," Malcolm explained. "We went to the same dance halls, we're both engineers by trade."

They eventually met five years ago, when Henry asked Malcolm to sing a few songs at their local village hall.

Since then they've been "living the dream", performing at fundraising events and care homes - and now BGT has brought them to the nation's attention.

The pair sang Frank Sinatra's 'You Make Me Feel So Young' for their audition, and the audience loved it, giving them a standing ovation.

"I loved you!" Amanda Holden grinned. "I think you've both got great voices. You made me feel very nostalgic. I think this is the perfect thing to put in front of the royal family."

Alesha Dixon called them "warm and funny", while David Walliams praised their "wonderful chemistry".

Simon Cowell agreed with the comedian, saying: "I know exactly what you mean. I'm sitting here thinking, this is Ant and Dec in ten years' time!"

The 41-year-old presenters were offended by his suggestion. "Ten? Ten?!" they exclaimed from the side of the stage.

But Simon was adamant, and even suggested Henry and Malcolm could cover the Geordie duo's biggest hit on the live shows.

"Get through to the next round and I want you to sing 'Lets Get Ready To Rhumble'," the media mogul laughed.

The Pensionnaires went home with four yesses, as Alesha added: "It goes to show, you're never too old."

We'll find out whether they've made the semi-finals next weekend, when the judges whittle down their shortlist on deliberation day.
