Britain's Got Talent 2017: Magician Niels Harder almost won David Walliams's Golden Buzzer

Wacky entertainer gets presenter Ant involved in guillotine trick

Niels Harder left the Britain's Got Talent 2017 judges in stitches with his bonkers magic act - and almost tempted David Walliams to press the Golden Buzzer.

The 26-year-old entertainer came from The Netherlands to take part in the ITV talent contest, and promised us something different to the magicians from previous series - such as last year's winner Richard Jones.

"I am here to make the British audience and judges go crazy," he said.

"I think I'm different because of the new style of magic, my personality, the energy, the craziness. Britain's Got Talent, watch out!"

Niels gave us a taste of his wacky personality when Amanda Holden asked if he has a "love in his life".

He responded by pointing to fellow judge Alesha Dixon and breaking in to an impromptu rendition of her single 'The Boy Does Nothing', to laughter from the audience.

The professional entertainer's first trick involved a handkerchief - while dancing to Fleur East hit 'Sax'.

He then upped the "craziness" with a rope trick - before twerking to Beyoncé's Crazy In Love.

But his maddest moment came when he brought out his "guillotine of death" and asked one of presenters Ant and Dec to join him.

Reluctant to take part, Dec pushed Ant out on stage, joking: "What a way to go!"

Niels secured Ant in place alongside two sticks of cucumber, while chanting the lyrics of his amusing backing track: "When Niels goes harder, the magic gets better."

Ant eventually escaped the guillotine unscathed - unlike the chopped cucumber - only for Niels to plant a kiss on him.

The hilarious performance was met with roaring applause, with David Walliams commenting: "I loved that so much, I was so entertained!"

"When you've got two or three minutes to take your moment, you took every second," added Simon Cowell.

Niels left the stage with four yesses and a place on the shortlist - but it turned out that he narrowly missed out on being sent straight through to the live shows.

When Alesha remarked that Niels would have been a "perfect Golden Buzzer" for David, the former Little Britain star admitted: "I was thinking about it."

The Britain's Got Talent 2017 auditions continue next Saturday on ITV.
