Britain's Got Talent 2016: Alesha Dixon 'banned' from performing new song

Alesha Dixon has reportedly been 'banned' from promoting her new single on Britain's Got Talent this year.

Last series saw Alesha perform her track The Way We Are from her album Do It for Love during the semi-finals.

However she won't be taking to the stage again this year to perform her latest song, Stop.

“Alesha is disappointed to miss out but appreciates she can’t complain too loudly," a source said today. “She knows how fortunate she is being on a show of BGT’s size so would never want to put that at risk.

“Alesha just knows how powerful big TV appearances can be for chart positions."

Rather than perform, Alesha appeared on Britain's Got More Talent last night to plug the song and play the music video.

Stars who have instead taken to the stage for the live shows this week included the cast of Motown The Musical, Nick Jonas and last year's winners Jules and Matisse.

Last night saw X Factor USA stars Fifth Harmony perform but viewers took aim at the girl group, branding their appearance awful.

Meanwhile the final on Saturday night will see a live performance from last year's X Factor winner Louisa Johnson who will be performing new song 'Tears' with Clean Bandit.

There will also be a VERY special reunion with some of BGT's most famous acts from the past decade, including Diversity and Ashleigh and Pudsey.

The Britain's Got Talent 2016 final airs this Saturday evening from 7:30PM on ITV.
