Simon Cowell has hit out at Britain's Got More Talent after a game involving puppies on tonight's show.
The ITV2 spin-off this evening saw host Stephen Mulhern play a game with the judges in which they quizzed about Britain's Got Talent facts.
For each correct answer, the judges were presented with a puppy, but viewers were NOT impressed with what they were seeing.
Twitter user @CateStaffs tweeted: "Anyone else disgusted at @itv2 use of puppies in a live studio for 'entertainment' contact @Ofcom #BGMT @StephenMulhern @SimonCowell"
@GemmaCasey wrote online: "Get ready for the backlash @StephenMulhern. Cute puppies but they were visibly shaking! #BGMT"
And @DaveyJayPowell added: "#BGMT disgusted that you brought puppies into that environment. So cruel and unnecessary."
Halfway through the game, an unimpressed Simon decided to remove the puppies.
"Shouldn't have had puppies in such a noisy environment! Good on you for taking it offstage @SimonCowell #BGT2016 #BGMT," @47journostudent tweeted.
@Sophie_Eillish agreed: "I love #bgmt but that was poor form using those puppies for 'entertainment' at least Simon cared to remove the scared pup from the situation."
Afterwards, dog fan Simon tweeted: "I wasn't aware puppies were going to be on BGMT tonight. Trust me, it won't happen again. They're on their way home now."
Meanwhile, More Talent's Stephen issued an apology at the end of the show.
"I want to apologise if we upset anyone with the puppies. Obviously that was not our intention, if we have upset you I do apologise," he said.
More Talent airs on ITV2 straight after the main show on ITV.
