There's a new act being tipped to win Britain's Got Talent 2016 when the live shows begin from this Sunday night.
Magician, Richard Jones has sensationally become the new frontrunner for the Britain’s Got Talent title after punters inundated bookmakers BoyleSports with bets on Thursday afternoon.
Richard, a member of the Household Cavalry, was initially priced as a 9/1 shot to win and saw some slight interest that resulted in him shortening into 6/1. However the major move came on Thursday when bets started to pour in. Traders quickly cut Richard into 5/1, but the bets continued to roll in and saw him eventually made the joint 7/2 joint favourite alongside Another Kind of Blue.
The major move on Richard Jones, who will find out on Saturday if he has secured a spot in the live semi-finals, has saw the rest of the hopefuls suffer.
Richard and Another Kind Of Blue are now ahead of what has been a rather singer heavy series.
Jasmine Elcock’s odds of winning have also suffered a drift, from 4/1 to 6/1, also priced at 6/1 is previous early 5/2 favourite Beau Dermott.
Aoife Heffron from bookies BoyleSports said: “With two days to go until the semi-finalists are chosen it seems punters are taking no chances in missing value and have gone all in on magician Richard Jones to win. After a hefty day at the office our traders have now made Richard the joint 7/2 favourite with Another Kind of Blue as he now poses the biggest threat in the liability stakes.”
She added “Unfortunately Irish hopefuls, The Presentation Choir have been eased out to 66/1 as a result of the overhaul in the betting, but we will keep our fingers crossed that they can defy the odds.”
Britain's Got Talent airs this Saturday with the last of the auditions and continues on Sunday with the first live semi-final.
