Britain's Got Talent contestant Aaron Carty reckons his experience in the police means he has no fears going before the judges.
The 26-year-old impressed the panel with his Beyonce drag act at the weekend, dancing to a medley of hits by the US pop star with a group of backing performers.
It earned him yeses from the judges after he shocked his gran in the audience who had been totally unaware of his act.
It's fair to say that Aaron's performance was rather at odds of with his former day job locking up baddies having spent years working the beat on the streets of London.
Aaron, who has revealed he was stabbed during one scuffle, explained: “I was threatened with knives on a regular basis. It was happening once a week, so it became the norm.
“The public don’t see what it’s like. Cop shows don’t show the reality and the danger the police are in. It’s the most thankless job in the world.”
Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, he said: “Standing on stage as Beyoncé in front of Simon Cowell doesn’t seem like that big a deal when I’ve had people try to kill me.
“Whenever I perform I remember the situations I’ve been in and that helps my confidence now.”
