Alesha Dixon has premiered her new single The Way We Are ahead of its live performance debut on Britain's Got Talent later this year.
Alesha confirmed to us last month that she'll be performing the new track on the live semi-finals at the end of this month.
The singer previously revealed how she had been delighted to have been asked by Simon Cowell to perform the song.
“Amanda Holden mentioned my single at one of the audition days and before I could even play it to Simon he asked if I’d perform it on the show," she recalled. “I was going to see if it was possible but it’s much nicer to be asked.”
The song is Alesha's first release in some four years and she's both excited and nervous.
“It’s been too long. I’ll be nervous when it’s released," the mum-of-one confessed. “But there’s a nice vibe in the air at the moment and I’m actually really excited.”
The song will be released independently by Alesha on her own label with Alesha saying: “I'm bringing it back to my first love, the music. Doing it independently this time feels great, I love being the boss and taking the reins creatively.”
Speaking about the song itself, she added: “The message in this track is special to me because it’s about being comfortable in your own skin, having confidence in ourselves ‘The Way We Are', which at the end of the day is what matters.”
