Louis Walsh could be set to launch a new version of Got Talent in Ireland.

Currently, Britain's Got Talent airs in Ireland on channel TV3 and holds auditions in the country too.

But boss Simon Cowell is planning to launch a new version of the show dedicated to Irish performers and reckons Louis could be the man to head up the panel.

It comes after Louis declared he was "done" with X Factor after eleven years behind the judges desk.

“Simon thinks Louis is the best man to take the reins on the judging panel," a source said today. "He’s very popular in Ireland and is the obvious choice – and Simon trusts him."

They added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The show’s in the early phases of development and Ireland should be a great new territory for the Got Talent format.”

As it stands the Got Talent format has produced versions in 58 countries, giving it a World Record as the globe's most successful and biggest reality show.
