Who's on Britain's Got Talent 2014 tonight?
Bars and Melody
BAM have only been together a short while, but have already begun writing songs together. The boys blew the judges away with their own composition of ‘Hopeful’ (originally by Twista ft. Faith Evans) with lyrics they wrote from their own experiences of bullying. They reduced the judges to tears and with encouragement from the audience Simon pressed his Golden Buzzer.
Lettice is an electric violinist who decided she wanted to play the violin at the age of three. Lettice has gone on to become a full time musician. Her flawless audition stunned the judges and the audience, as she confidently performed a mix of contemporary tracks, using her electric violin. The judges also praised her cheerful, warm personality along with her unquestionable musicality. Amanda said Lettice “had me at hello” and Simon told her “I will remember you, coming away from this”.
Innova Irish Dance Company
Innova are from Northern Ireland and hope to further traditional Irish Dancing, by putting a contemporary spin on it. Performing to a medley of current pop-hits, the dancers wowed the judges and were rewarded with four yeses. Simon loved the shock factor of it and labelled it as ‘very clever’. The crowd cheered loudly for the troupe as they performed with high energy and enthusiasm.
Pyroterra have been performing together for 7 years and their previous “day jobs” include film stuntmen, historic sword fencers and mountain climbers. Two years ago they started to take it more seriously and became professionals. Their performance excited the audience and flushed nearly all the judges with adrenaline. Simon said “it was good” but “the ending was weak”. However, Amanda disagreed, describing it as a “very powerful act” and David felt a “real sense of danger” throughout.
Eva has always been interested in music but felt she discovered her voice quite late in life. Eva blew the judges away with her passionate rendition of Natural Woman. The judges acknowledged Eva’s emotional connection with the song and how this shone through during her entire performance. David thought she was “astonishing” and Amanda said Eva made her “proud to be a woman”.
Light Balance are a collection of dancers and computer programmers, aged 18-33, from Ukraine. They formed two years ago and spend a lot of time on the act but also have other jobs to earn a living. Their diverse performance surprised the judges and it was like nothing we’d seen before on Britain’s Got Talent. The audience was blown away as they witnessed one performer multiply into 5 coloured- light silhouettes. Simon thought it was “incredible” and David “could see it all over again instantly”.
Toju has loved comedy since an early age when he would sit for hours watching Laurel and Hardy and Are You Being Served. He has been working as a full time comedian for 20 years. He had the judges in hysterics at his audition with his stand-up comedy routine including his Cilla Black impression, and received Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer.
Kieran & Sarah
Kieran and Sarah have been singing together for four years and believe they are soul mates. They got four yeses from the judges after winning them over with their personalities and their performance of Love Changes Everything.
Allan first started DJ’ing from as young as 12 years old and has been a full time DJ for over 20 years. He failed to impress Simon with him labelling Allan’s audition ‘horrendous’. However he got Amanda, Alesha, David and the audience up and dancing along with David saying ‘you got the party started’.
