James Smith and The Addict Initiative have made the BGT 2014 final in tonight's Britain's Got Talent 2014 semi-final results.

Earlier tonight we saw the second set of nine acts do their thing for the judges' and us viewers.

There were dance troupe the Addict Initiative, motorbike stunt group Bolddog FMX Team, The Wanted songwriter Ed Drewett and Essex girl group SweetChix.

They all competed against singers James Smith and Jodi Bird, the wacky Kony Puppets, young dancers Mini Moves and comic Ricky K.

After all had performed live the lines opened for 30 minutes but closed in tonight's results show, which saw a special guest appearance from Ed Sheeran.

In the nerve wrecking results announcement, hosts Ant and Dec first announced that with the most votes, singer James Smith had won a guaranteed spot in the live final.

They then announced that fellow singer Jodi Bird and dance troupe The Addict Initiative had received the next most votes from the public and that the judges would decide which would be joining James in the final.

David Walliams voted: "This is the worst part of the show. Two incredible acts... I'm putting through the Addict Initiative."

Alesha Dixon said: "I think both acts should be in the final, I loved Jodi but I'm going with The Addict Initiative."

Amanda Holden said: "I absolutely adored Jodi so my vote is with Jodi."

With the casting vote, Simon Cowell said: "The act I'm putting through is... the Addict Initiative."

As a result, the Addict Initiative joined James in the live final, alongside Collabro and Darcy Oake.
