Britain's Got Talent's Micky Dumoulin has explained just why he picked the show over The Voice UK.

Micky wowed the judges at the weekend after belting out Les Mis track Bring Him Home, sailing through to the next round.

It was the latest audition for Micky who also auditioned for The X Factor in 2008, making it as far as bootcamp alongside eventual winner Alexandra Burke.

Micky recalls: “I was only 19 when I did X Factor, I’ve grown up since then.

"I’ve learned the trade and have more confidence."

He added: "I chose BGT over The Voice and X Factor this time as it’s the best show in the world.”

In an interview with The Sun newspaper this week, Micky also revealed how he hoped that one of the 10 million viewers who watched Saturday's show was his estranged fatheer.

The Essex lad said: “My dad left home and we aren’t in contact. It’s just one of those things that happens with families.

“He has always known I loved singing and has seen me sing before but he didn’t know I auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent. I hope it’s a nice surprise.

“We haven’t spoken in ages. If he gets in touch it would be nice. I wish him all the best.”

BGT 2014 continues next weekend on ITV.
