Simon Cowell almost got hit in the EYE during filming of Britain's Got Talent 2014 after David Walliams threw a PEN at him, it's been revealed.
The current BGT judges are known for being one of the chummiest talent show panels on telly.
But when Simon upstaged the former Little Britain star at one of the auditions, he decided to launch a pen in the media mogul's direction - and only narrowly avoided causing a serious injury.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the pair's fellow judge Amanda Holden explained: "David nearly blinded Simon this year. I'm not even joking.
"He threw a pen at Simon, because Simon was being funnier than David. It was awful and he nearly blinded him."
"You will be seeing this on the show in slow motion, it was a very big hissy fit," added Simon.
David - who often refers to the 54-year-old as 'my Simon' - then asked: "Would you like me to tell you what you were doing which is why I threw the pen?"
"No, we're not gonna go there," laughed Simon.
David and Simon's, er, unique relationship was recently parodied in a trailer for the new series, which sees the comedian play a nanny for Simon's newborn son Eric.
Britain's Got Talent 2014 kicks off this Saturday at 7.15pm on ITV.
