Britain's Got Talent and X Factor judge Simon Cowell has blasted the sob stories presented on his shows.
Despite both X Factor and BGT being famous for often featuring emotional back stories about contestants, it seems even Simon's had enough of what some acts come out with.
Speaking ahead of the return of BGT at the weekend, he said: I’m put off when it becomes more important than their talent and I hate it when people are actually revelling in their back stories.
"In fact, they actually rehearse their back stories more than their audition. Sometimes they don’t even have an audition they just come with a back story and can’t actually do anything."
So there's a top tip for those auditioning for The X Factor this year!
Meanwhile, Simon defended Britain's Got Talent for often featuring foreign acts, including last year's winners Attraction who were fro Hungary.
He said: "If I’m honest with you I love the fact that people from other countries enter this show as it’s actually a compliment that they don’t want to do it in their own countries because they feel that Britain’s Got Talent is the best world showcase.
"But obviously, because I’m British, I would prefer a Brit winning."
Britain's Got Talent starts this weekend on ITV.
